Nuclear Warfare: Salvation or Destruction

A thoughtful discussion program titled “Nuclear Warfare: Salvation or Destruction” was organized by Team Explore Idea on Bhadra 22, 2082. The session explored one of the most sensitive debates of our time—whether nuclear power has protected humanity or pushed it closer to irreversible devastation.

The conversation moved through the past, present, and future of global geopolitics, touching on the wars unfolding around the world and the growing tension among major powers. Ten students from Global College of Management actively participated, sharing their perspectives on whether nuclear weapons have acted as a shield or a looming threat to civilization. The event’s interactive nature made the discussion more engaging and thoughtful.

Participants reflected on how nuclear weapons, despite being portrayed as deterrents, have mainly generated fear, instability, and mistrust among nations. The idea of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) was criticized as an unsustainable concept that cannot guarantee real or lasting peace. They recalled the past use of nuclear weapons and how it marked one of the darkest moments in human history—clear evidence of the unimaginable danger these weapons hold.

The discussion further stressed the need for stronger global resolutions, especially as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) continues to be violated by powerful states. Participants agreed that international organizations must take corrective actions to prevent further escalation. While nuclear energy can be used positively for development and progress, nuclear weapons can never be a solution to geopolitical conflict or global peace.
